Athlete Standards & Code of Conduct

Respect is foundational to development. Divers are expected to:

• Show respect to coaches, teammates, officials, and facility staff
• Listen when coaches are speaking
• Accept instruction and correction appropriately
• Represent Wisconsin Dive Club with integrity in all environments

Effort is within every athlete’s control. Divers are expected to:

• Give consistent effort in training
• Complete assigned dryland, conditioning, and technical work
• Approach challenges with persistence
• Remain attentive and engaged during practice

Growth requires ownership. Divers are expected to:

• Arrive on time and prepared
• Wear appropriate training attire
• Communicate schedule conflicts appropriately
• Take ownership of personal equipment
• Accept increasing responsibility as they mature

Divers represent Wisconsin Dive Club at all times. They are expected to:

• Demonstrate sportsmanship
• Follow facility and safety rules
• Maintain appropriate behavior on deck and at competitions
• Conduct themselves responsibly in public and on social media

Divers are expected to maintain responsible academic habits. Academic discipline supports long-term opportunity and growth.

When standards are not met, coaches will address concerns directly with the diver. Consequences may include corrective action, temporary training adjustments, changes in competition eligibility, or review of group placement. The purpose of accountability is development.
